For those of you that don’t know me, my name is Dave Bush and I have been working as the Technical & Production Coordinator for the Vanderbilt Planetarium since 2000. I’ve been a MAPS member since 2004 and attended my first conference the same year. I’ve been responsible for writing and producing the public shows at the planetarium and have helped develop many of the education shows as well. I’m currently working towards my Master’s Degree in Earth/Space Science Education at Long Island University. |

During the past year or so I’ve been busy designing and planning a renovation to the Vanderbilt Planetarium that is scheduled to happen in 2008. I’ve had the pleasure of visiting some of our well-known vendors and have learned a lot about the capabilities of the various systems. We are hoping that in the near future we’ll be able to provide a wonderful new venue to host a conference. I’m truly honored to be nominated as a board member for the Mid-Atlantic Planetarium Society and I hope to be a fresh and welcomed addition. I have a true love for astronomy, education and entertainment and am thrilled to have found such a rewarding career in the planetarium field. I believe that I will be able to provide some good ideas for future conferences and would like to support the organization to the best of my abilities. |
