I have been the Chair of the MAPS Publication Committee and Editor of the Constellation for the last 15 years. I have had the privilege of serving on the MAPS Board since 1998. I am Manager of the Newark Museum Dreyfuss Planetarium. Ours is a small 50-seat theater. Along with a portable planetarium it serves about 30,000 people per year. I also write the planetariums weekly astronomy column for the Star Ledger, NJ’s largest newspaper. |

Along with my duties at the planetarium I am active in amateur astronomy. I have been Vice President of my local club, the North Jersey Astronomical Group, since 1991. I have also been an officer and active participant for many years in activities organized by the United Astronomy Clubs of NJ, a statewide astronomy education organization. I have also been a member of the International Dark Sky Association since 1990 and have participated in the fight against light pollution. The future of the planetarium field is filled with both opportunities and challenges and I would like to continue to serve on the Board, helping the Society move forward in this era of change. Thank you. |
